Creating Project from a project template is missing pre-established views and sheets

I've created a Revit LT template to standardize projects for a specific client, we typically do 6–9 nearly identical projects a year.

The template includes all necessary sheets, scope boxes, schedules, views (plan and drafting), and view templates.

However, when starting a new project using this template, none of the pre-created views or sheets appear in the new model. My understanding (based on how personal templates work) is that views and sheets should carry over, with only links missing and needing to be reloaded.

We’re using Revit LT exclusively, and I’ve worked around some of its limitations, but this issue seems unusual.

Has anyone else experienced this with Revit LT? Is this a known limitation, or could something else be causing it?

I suspect your template is corrupt, possibly upgraded over time from an old version.

I recommend start fresh every 2nd or 3rd version to keep it fresh and up to date. Never upgrade a template more than once.

I wish you could share it, so we can review.

I think I have close to 180 saves on my current template and this was started from scratch about a month ago.

Would I need to basically start from scratch then?

So a brief update.

Appears that if the template is saved on my computer (onedrive), it works correctly. If saved to the network server and used to start a project, it does not correctly.

How's the template selected?

If just new is started and the first template in list used, maybe the template defined isn't the correct one.

The template is selected as you would any other template. I added the location per the file -> options -> file locations -> added a location.

Further testing showed the template works if it was saved and located on the desktop. But when the file location was set to the companies' server the template doesnt work properly.

I would verify that they are are copies of each other. Maybe you have a project file vs. template file confusion going on.
