Creating an arched opening in a curved wall

I'm trying to create an arched opening with a molding in a curved wall. This is how far I've got.

I created a void extrusion and cut through the wall, then created a sweep along the outside edge of the opening. It's almost correct, except that at the actual arch the sweep profile wants to angle inwards, which is not what I want. Anyone ever done something like this? Is there a solution?

Instead of using a sweep, model the arch using walls and use voids to cut them.

Example below show one layer, you can use the same approach to add more layers to get the profile you need.

Yes that makes sense, good solution, thank you. How do you think the splayed inner wall could work as it goes around the arch?

I think you can use the same approach, but cut it with void blends instead of void extrusions.
