Hey everyone,
I am trying to model an underground building, and im trying to create the site with either toposurface or floors.
I was wondering if it is possible to select the whole building, and creating a void out of it and then placing that void inside the mass used for the site.
I am trying to do this because i need to have the site visible in both 3d and in my sections. Is there an easy solution to this problem?
I dont think using a building pad works that well when the entire building is underground and has the site going over the roof. The building pad cuts the site with an infinite height. am i missing something here?
Take a look here:

Allright thanks!
The problem is that the building im modeling has a lot of different levels and appendages..
I was thinking of modeling the site as a solid mass and drawing the building as a void to cut it out of the mass. Is this an option worth trying?
You could potentially do that.
-Isolate the Exterior Shell--walls and roofs, etc.
-Create a "Building Mass" by selecting the boundaries of the walls and roofs.
-Create a "Site Mass" for the earth/topography ( not sure how complicated the site is--topo, etc.?)
-Then Cut the Site Mass with the Building Mass using Boolean cut geometry methods.
-Note that the "Masses" could also be Generic Models.
