Hi, I'm looking to create roof lights like in the sketch attached. I tried mass in place but couldn't get the void included. Any suggestions?

For the square based truncated pyramidal roof, you can model them as a roof or floor family and modify the sub-objects to draw and set each vertex/edge heights.
Modify the Shape of a Roof or Structural Floor
The insert a skylight window family from the default revit families in the top most portion. This will cut the roof for the window opening.
Hope this helps,

Ideally (and if it a bigger roof), I would use a pattern based generic family...However, if it is just that element showing in the image you posted, using a Mass in Place + Curtain System by face should suffice. No need for any voids.
