Creating a complex rail/balustrade in Revit

Hello,

I'm trying to create a custom rail/balustrade system in Revit which looks a little something like this:

I can get something close:

But not quite... The logic seems to be that I need two balustrade types with their own spacing requirements but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Please help pivot my thinking. @RDAOU, I'm looking at you...

Thank you.

Is this the problem? Wrapping around corners?

Create a Custom Post that has both a Post and Baluster Geometry in it.

There are two elements - the triangle fold and the straight baluster.

I can't work out how to get the straight baluster to show behind the folded baluster. Meaning, I don't know how to implement both elements to create the rail I want.

I noticed you've done it in the post I marked as a solution.

Is your solution to create a custom baluster which has both in already?

Thanks.

There are several ways:

  1.  If your distance between posts are fixed then model the posts as a post family and the folded balustrade as a baluster panel family.

  2. If you distance between posts varies:
    1. Sketch the railing as multiple segments instead of a continuous line and utilize start/corner/end post.  Use balusters for the folded balustrade.
    2. Sketch the railing normally.  Use a handrail support family for the posts and balusters for the folded balustrade.
