Is it possible to create a Call out on a vertical section? I can do it on plan sections but not a vertical sections.
Surely it is possible somehow. What am I missing.

Nope, even with the view active it doesn't allow the creation of callout.
The callout button in the ribbon simply doesn't activate in the vertical section but does activate on the plan section.
Now that I know it should work I am going to shut it all down and reopen etc. etc.
I've been an Autocad guy for 25 years. But am new to Revit. I have probably got goofed up somehow.

Post a screenshot of the view activated. Selecting a view does not meant it is active. You need to double click inside the viewport, right click on the viewport and choose Activate. The screenshot you shared indicates you are still on the sheet. What if you open the view directly?
OK - restarted and came back in.
Definitely something weird going on.
The callout command now activates. But on the sheet in original post neither plan nor section view will actually allow creating a new view from the callout command. Despite the fact that in some of these views it has worked previously. I get the following message regardless of what or where I try to create a call out on any of the details.
"None of the created elements are visible in ............. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings, as well as any Plan Regions and their settings.
So seems as something must be set incorrectly in the detail view templates?
PROBLEM SOLVED! The view template somehow was changed to exclude callouts from the views.
Newbie idiot thanks all for their time!
