creating 3D box in ceiling space

I wish to build a 3D box in ceiling space to demonstrate to other trades that our fixtures need this space...but I can't find the Extrusion button!? The Create tab is missing?? I am just scrambling to draw cheap detail lines for nowbut I would really like to learn!

Ribbon > Architecture > Component > Model In-place

But, you should have create a parametric family it so that you can easily change size for different ceiling objects.  Best is you can have the consultant build it in their fixture families.

Right. Kind of rock in a hard place moment as it was modeled but other trades blast through our material kind of story. So was scrambling. Appreciate the advice ToanDN!

I would place symbolic lines right into the fixture family, on both the front/back plane and the left/right plane, representing the required clear space. I would assign those symbolic lines to a new, unique Subcategory so that they can be turned on/off as desired within a project view.

Architecture Tab....Component....Model In Place.

And I can already tell you are going to have space issues in that section...unless  you don't have any mechanical at all.

Edit....5 minutes too late... :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:

Nah, he could still stuff 6" flex duct through open joists, only crushing it down to 3" or so. No problem. Smiley (überrascht)
