Hello all,

I have created a series of area plans in revit and wirh some design changes I need to chage and move areas. how am I able to have a copy of the area plan thats independent of the 2nd area plan.

I have tried to duplicate as opposed to duplicate as a dependent and it didnt work. I also tried to go into design options but area plans are not allowed in design options.

Thank you,

Tommy

I don't know that I know exactly what you are asking, but I think I have an idea.  Areas and area boundries act the same way as rooms and room separators.  They are "model" elements.  That means that if you create another Area Plan by any method, those elements will show on that plan.  There is an answer though.

Go to the Architecture Tab.  Click the down arrow to expand the "Room & Area" pane.

Click "Area and Volume Computations"

Go to the "Area Schemes" tab

Click "New"

Now you are set up to create new versions of area plans.

Go to the "View" tab

Click on "Plan Views" and select "Area Plan"

Click the dropdown menu under "Type" and choose one of the new Schemes

Each of these "Types" of area plans will show up under a different drop down in the project browser.

Is that what you were looking for?
