Hi, I am trying to create a template from my project, but without walls, floors,.... Is there any way to do it? Thanks for any help
To create a new project template from an existing project, to use each time you start a new project.
In the 3D view delete any previously drawn geometry. (walls, doors, windows, floors, roofs etc...)
Delete any Levels that you don't want.
Delete any grid lines you don't want.
Delete any views you don't want. (Plans, Sections, Elevations, Schedules etc...)
Delete any drawings, but make sure any drawing title blocks you want are loaded in.
Basically delete anything you don't want and load in anything you do want, like door or window families.
Go to Save As and select Template. Save it somewhere you can locate easily
You can add this template to you template file list from Options > File Locations use the + and browse to where you have saved your new template file.
open the project detach from central do not preserve worksets
do a save as locally (TEMPLATE NAME.RTE)
be sure to select Save AS Template when prompted.
open a 3d view and select everything and delete it all.
delete all views and sheets.
it will be cleaner when you need to create views later in your template modification
you may want to do some cleanup in your template file
selectively purge out anything from the project that you consider NOT standard.
also keep a couple of levels and a view for each level (FLOOR and CEILING)
try to keep your template as clean as possible with a good base of the Standard things.
Generic Annotative symbols, Tags, Text Styles, Wall Types.
if you have a well set up Library of resources in your office you can always load things as you need them.
