What you have in that picture is what we create in a pattern based family template and then apply it to the grid patterns. It can be modeled using any of the grid patterns on the drop down type selector... what differs will be the bases which you build the wire frame on...ie: the trigonometry used to create that pattern.
What you see on that drop down type selector applies to the grid which is only the wireframe or the guide for the pattern based family and not the pattern itself which you see in that picture. It doesn't just come like that....For that family which you have in the picture, it is a based on a simple _No Pattern_ rectangular grid on the cylindrical divided surface and the lights are a pattern based or adaptive family applied to this grid....I would say it (the family) is a 3 points adaptive bezierish like curve which would result a helical strip light revolving around the tower once applied and repeated
See image below - Single Helical patteren from the _No Pattern grid...it can be doubled although it doesn't need to be. One can apply two families in opposite directions to the same grid below
EDIT: Looking at the picture closely it is not even a helix! it is a simple rectangular grid with a 3 adaptive points curve revolving horizontally around the cylinder...ie: just the grid on printscreen1 below
