Hello,
I have created a central model on our server using a local network. On my PC, I can create a local file (so can many others) of this central. I have a coworker with a new computer that was setup that the checkbox for creating a local file is greyed out. I have also tried creating the central using her new computer and then no one else can create a local.
After messing around for a while, when opening the central directly, I noticed the error 'This central model has been copied or moved...' has a different address for the same location the model is located. The server shows up as P:\ for everyone else, however her machine is addressing the drive as the IP address '\\192....'. I believe, even though they technically are in the same location, her computer is seeing it differently and not letting the local to be created. I have tried on both Revit 18 and 19.
Can anyone offer any support in getting this resolved? Is this something that needs to be done through Revit?
Thank you,
Tyler
The new computer is technically accessing the file using different pathing, which is resulting in the issue that you are seeing.
Can her computer be mapped to use the same drive letter as the rest of you or can the rest of the computers be changed to access the folder structure using the UNC path instead of a drive letter?
