Create gap in staircase railing

Create gap in staircase railing

Hi,

I'm trying to create a gap in the railing on my stairs at a landing. Any help would be appreciated!

I've tried coping and pasting the railing in positioned then modified the alignment so I have a one run below the landing, and another run above the landing; but the upper run aligned to the base of the stairs.

See screen grabs attached.

Thanks!

@Anonymous  - Which version of Revit are you in? Revit 2019 gives you the ability to use the Split command to split railings outside the sketch mode.

Other versions of Revit - you will need to create two separate railings. What I like to do is split the railing in sketch mode, cut the 2nd sketch line and exit, create a new railing and paste the cut sketch line in the same place.

I don't understand what you mean. I see two railings in top screenshot  - one hosted to Treads and the other hosted to Stringer - and in the bottom screenshot, it looks like only one of the two is shown.  What kind of "gap" are you needing?

Much thanks! I didn't know this command existed.
