CREATE ENLARGED STEPS FOR STAIR (2019)

i would like to create a stair with the lower 3 steps to be enlarged and my railing to go to the bottom floor. as apposed to creating a model-in-place family for those 3 steps where my railing doesnt recognize. i am attaching a pdf of this stair. in the pdf i have a description of what i want to do.

Model those in-place.

that what is what I have done. the problem is with the railing not reaching to the last step.

Create a Level at top of them and start stairs from there. Is that what you mean?

...are you modeling them under the Stair Category?

I don't believe that is what I meant. if you look at the attached PDF you will see the railing only reaching the bottom of the actual stair and not to the bottom of the model-in-place family.

Edit the railing sketch and extend them.

I am attaching a new screen shot of the highlighted railing that is extended down to the bottom of the m.i.p. family. the railing wants to flatten out and not keep the pitch (slope of the stair.

Add those steps to the actual stairs as a run by sketch then.

so now the trick is for me to figure out how your railing did it and mine did not.

All I did was edit the Rail path (e.g. pulled it to first tread).

it seems as though every time I tried that the railing wanted to flatten out and not carry the same slope

I was a bit tricky for me too.  It took a little finessing to get it right.

BTW: mine is a Stair by Sketch, as @ToanDN had suggested. All the treads/risers are defined in that one Sketch. The only thing I couldn't get to look right was the Supports.  The Stringers shown are modeled as In-Place Components.

I am attaching a file in which the stair and rail are in for your review

Convert the Stairs to Sketch-Based and add those "enlarged" treads/risers to the existing sketch.

how did you get those enlarged steps a the bottom. every time I try to create the step that is a riser for 3 to 4 sides I get a message telling me the sketch is incomplete?

Does your Stair Path extend through the entire run; first to last riser?

my stair path goes the entire run. I am attaching a screen shot with the stair path highlighted. you will see the bottom 3 enlarged steps are model-in-place componentstair path.PNG

Doesn't look like it does.  Aren't those "enlarged steps" included in the sketch?  They need to be.

I cannot seem to figure out how to get those last 3 steps include so that those 3 steps are essentially risers on 3 sides of the tread. similar to the image you included earlier in this dialogue
