if there are Parameters which show these values but not called Length & Width you can simply use the Formatting Edit to change the Column Heading Name.

If not you will need to create New Shared Parameters if they do not exist.  There is lots of information in the Revit Help on how to do this.

One point to note is Length and Width are common parameters and it is advised you use a specific identifier to your Shared Parameter as it could result in 2 lengths and widths being included in other Schedules as these parameters are shared in nature..

Is the family set to casework? If so, it should have default Width, depth and height as parameter. When you schedule, you should have these parameter ready to go.

The OOTB countertop family has the Length set as an instance parameter so you can copy it around the model and simply edit the length each time whereas if you were to edit the family and delete the Length Parameter and replace it with the Width Parameter you could use this in a schedule but you would need to duplicate the Type every time there is a different width of countertop

I am using the family Counter Top-Island that came with the Revit Program.  Length appears as an instance on the properties box on the left.  Width appears inside the type properties which seem to always be blank.

Length does not appear as a selection item in the "available fields" list.

Do I need to create a new type in the family for each Counter-top Island and manually insert the length into the Width box?

For example: Kitchen Island, width 6'; Bathroom granite countertop, width 4'

Or is there an easier method that I am not aware of ?

Open the Countertop Family, select the Length Parameter and swap it for the Width Parameter (This can then be scheduled) then load it back into the model with Parameters Overrides.

Then each time you need a new countertop just create (duplicate) a New Type in the Family.

its a bit repetitive but you can report it in a schedule it thus way and ignore the length parameter

The default Revit Countertop from the library have length, but it cannot be scheduled. So you have to make width to adapt the length measurement.

One thing I would do is edit the family. In the parameter, you would set width as your dimension and click on instance parameter

Next you would make width equal with length

Load it back into your family and the width will show up in your casework schedule
