Hi all,
After excessive research I can't find a solution to this problem and I hope anyone here might have an idea.
I have one central file that I can't open due to too many elements missing. Trying to rollback, the only backup file that I can actually open is one from 2 days ago, which means loosing 2 days worth of work.
All team members working on this file use the same version of Revit (2017.2) so that is not the cause of this problem.
I also tried autodesk's solution (http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-9AFAAE6B-4107-4478-8B80-53467FE118DB) but the journal file doesn't contain any missing elements records.
I've tried detaching from central, saving backup files with a different name in a different location away from the corrupted file... still, I can't open any of them.
What I find very strange is that all backup files from yesterday are corrupted even though I was successfully working on my local file and synchronising without a problem all day and yet somehow this morning all of yesterdays backups are corrupted.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
Greta
Have you tried to replicate the situation on another machine?
If you are able to open the file successfully on another machine, then that means that there is not enough free space on your computer. To fix it -
1) Delete all local files
2) delete all files in your Temp folder (search for the temp folder by typing %temp% in the Windows search window)
3) empty Recycle Bin
4) reboot.
If this does not solve the problem, then you may need to replace the central model.
Hi Rina,
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately that is not the problem. We get the same error on all machines. No one can work on it.
Kind regards,
Greta
In which case, set up a time when no one is in the model and replace your central model with a backup. Can IT get you a good backup from their tapes?
