Copying structural foundation in elevation view

Dear devoted Revit Users,

I have a quick question about copying of structural foundation.

When I tried to copy, by dragging  down it below the original foundation on elevation view,

it was overlapped in the same position then showed the warning below.

I can move after it is located the same place and I can also copy above the original foundation but not below.

Why??

If anyone can tell the reason for this behavior I would appreciate it.

Revit has a lot of mystery :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Hello,

To creat it below the original, you first need to creat a level under level 1 set at 0. It will work.

Thank you for your comment.

I drew a level below level 1 and the foundation move to the new level when I dragged with copy tool. Another time it again move to level 1 but not the place I dragged.
It seems moving to either level which is closer to where I drop the foundation.
Is the isolated foundation supposed not to just copy by dragging to the place where I want to copy?

..just give the copy a negative offset to remove warning.  You shouldn't need additional datums -- unless you prefer to do it that way.

Thank you for your comment.

So it is normal behavior of structural foundation, isn't it?

I mean that the copied foundation is automatically attached to the closest level.

I just wondered about the different behavior of this category, that is all.

Thank you.
