Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew if its possible to copy a detail line from Revit 21 into Revit 22? I've tried copy to clipboard and it works in the same version, but when I open my Revit 22 project, it doesn't give me the option to paste it. is there a way round this? or is it not possible between two different versions?

Open a copy of the 21 file in 22 then copy paste.

I think you misunderstood @ToanDN - or we're misunderstanding you. If you want to copy content from 21 to 22, UPGRADE 21 to 22, and then copy/paste between them or use Transfer Project Standards or load one RVT into the other RVT.  So on and so forth.  "Upgrade" is the operative word.

Another suggestion to quicken the upgrade process when dealing with a large RVT project file (or on a slower PC), is to export out the only the elements needed:

  1. Create a detail group with the 2D line in question in the earlier version;
  2. Save the detail group out as a RVT project from the earlier version;
  3. Open and upgrade the smaller RVT detail project file in the later version;
  4. Copy and paste to your later version version RVT project.

Hope this helps,
