Copying and pasting between models

Say I'm given two models of the same building where one is supposed to contain only architectural elements, and one is supposed to contain only structural elements. However, upon checking the models, I discover the architectural model has a few structural elements accidentally included which are consequently missing from the structural model. I want to cut these out out of the architectural and place them, at the same location within the structural model. What would be the best procedure for this? Thanks.

1. Open up a 3D View and a Plan view in your Source model.
2. In the 3D View, hide all categories/objects that you don't need.
3. Select all required objects in the 3D View.
4. With the objects still selected, switch to your Plan view and press Ctrl-X (or Ctrl-C if you're feeling nervous).
5. Open up an identical Plan view in your Target model
6. Paste-aligned to current view.
7. Profit!
