Copying and mirroring windows to typical unit walls

Hi guys,

I'm working on an apartment complex where there are many repeating units and floor levels. I'm currently modelling up the facade and putting in windows.  As a result, copying/pasting and mirroring them would save a lot of time but that's where I'm running into trouble. For example, I've selected the three windows on the left unit and tried to mirror them to the right but the windows don't align into the correct position. I've noticed this happens when copying down from a unit that's on the floor above too.

So, are you saying that the vertical window on the right is a mirror copy of the horizontal window on the left?  Strange if true.

Post the file.

Here you are. When I try to copy the mirrors from the left unit. The windows snap in a different position. Thanks so much for looking into it

When I mirror this, the window on the top goes to the middle wall.

When I try copying the windows, some of them copy correctly. Some are copying to different walls/orientation and there are others that can't and I get the message "Can't cut instance of 3000W x 2900H - F-A-F out of Wall." Not sure whats happening here.

Okay, I was able to replicate your issue.  Try this mirror/copy with the windows in the attached file.

- Delete the wall on the right side.

- Mirror the left wall only and the window will come with it.

Or, make the wall and the window a group and mirror the group.

Thanks for this. So you unpinned the two sides and pinned the middle as the origin?
