Copy section mark keeping view template

Is there a way to keep the view template when copying a section mark? Usually we setup one section to the correct level extents, and give it a view template. Then we copy that section mark to produce more sections around the building, but it always removes the view template. Thanks

hi

have you tried editing the type properties of the section? The field "apply view template to new views" should be set on the desired view template

hope it helps

I have set the "view template appllied to new views' however this only works for 'new views' IE: when i create a new section of that type. It does not work when i copy a section of that type. So i may have a 1:20 floor section that i have setup, i copy the section to another point in the slab, but the view template is now set to "none"

with duplicate and then move?

No, i believe if i duplicate then move the section, the template stays. What i usually do is when im on my plan view and i have a section drawn, i like to copy the section mark/section reference to another part of the slab so i can place the section where i want and set the far clip offset. As soon as i copy the section mark, it loses its template.

so that's it then, it's just one more command in between. you have your plan view and your section, and when you duplicate it, it duplicates on the same place. Now instead of copy you choose move, and the rest works the same way.

Hi,

Have you found a way to keep the template after copying a section in the plan?

Duplicate view (w./without detail) in project browser and move the section to desired position in plan.

edit: or just apply the template to the section after copying. I think it does copy the section settings actually, so then that wouldn't change anything.
