Copy-paste at shared coordinates / different projects

Hi everyone,

I have 2 projects, a site model and a building model, with different Internal Origins in each file.

The 2 models share the same coordinates system (Building is linked "at shared coordinates")

Question : Is it possible to copy-paste elements from the building file to the site model "at shared coordinates" ? I think Revit always uses Internal Origin when it comes to copy-paste.

Thank you in advance.

not sure, but each element / component has its own origin base point.

so I would just do a copy to clipboard paste operation and place things as needed.

good idea though.

Why not link in the model by shared coordinate first? Then highlight the object in the link, copy and then paste in same place. It should place the object at that same spot.

What about Relocate Project?  Move the IO to the SP?

Hi @syman2000 ,

It works perfectly 😀, sorry I did not think of this trick. I mark this thread solved.

@barthbradley : No I don't want to move the IO or relocate project, everything is fine in my projects. I almost never move IO (which is useless in projects).

Thank you all for your replies.

Sincerely.
