copy multiple

I never quite understood why there is a multiple check box for copying, wouldn't it make sense to not have that at all and by default have the copy command copy multiple times, and if you only want one copy, then you exit out of the command after placing one copy. Is there a reason for the multiple option, seems to me it's just an unnecessary mouse click, and if you forget to click it, then you have to go back and make numerous mouse clicks to get back to where you just were copying stuff. A small thing I know, but time is money.

Your argument runs both ways. If the default interface was to copy multiple, some users would wonder why they would have to do an extra click to exit the command after doing only one copy.

If you look at it from the point of view of multiple users in different disciplines having distinct tasks having to use the same interface, statistically doing a single copy is more probable then multiple copies.

On the other hand, Revit does try to « anticipate »  what the user want’s to achieve and will remember previous settings to make the interface more fluid. This is the case of for copy, that if you checked multiple on in the previous command, it will be on for the next.

In a single user environment, you could set this up in your template but I’m not sure for work sharing projects. Similar discussion here:

My 2 cents,
