when I want to copy the group I cant copy the curtain walls and I get the message that "Can’t create Curtain Wall Mullion. The portion of the curtain grid it was placed on no longer exists." The file is attached for your review.

PS: the group is in level 1.

To copy a curtain wall, you need to make sure that you select the curtail wall entity and not just some elements that are part of the curtain wall such as mullions and panels. When you select the curtain wall properly, you should see a dotted line at the center of the curtain wall; click on that, and you should be able to read "Wall: Curtain Wall" at the lower left corner of the screen. If your group that does not contain the full curtain wall entity, but just some hosted elements, you won't be able to copy the group correctly, with the curtain wall.

Thanks for replying.

the issue is that the curtain wall is part of a group as I want to copy the group not just only the curtian wall.

What I am saying is that maybe the curtain wall is not entirely within the group. Maybe just some panels and mullions are, but not the entire wall itself.

This problem happens all the time when the curtain wall that is in the group has the internal mullions defined by a rule (i.e. vertical mullions every 5', or always 10 mullions, or whatever).  For some reason, Revit can't seem to parse the change to curtain wall with rules when it's in a group.

To solve this, while outside group edit mode, duplicate the curtain wall type, change the rules to "None", then go into group edit mode and switch the curtain wall type to the new "no rules" type.  You'll get an error message giving you the option to either delete the mullions (because it wants to delete the curtain grids that were defined by the rules) or just leave everything as-is.  Choose the second option, and everything will work.  The only downside to this is that the curtain wall grids are now totally manual.  You could try switching it back after you've edited the group, but I've never needed to, so I can't say how that would work out for you.

Hope that helps.
