Hi,
Is there a way to copy and paste from a PDF and the notes I am trying to copy, actually maintain the same format as seen on the PDF?
I have tried, copy and copy with formatting in Adobe. each time I paste into my Revit 2020.2 model the text decides to do its own thing and move elsewhere from the bullet items. In some cases the text decides to show up elsewhere, out of sequence altogether!
I have also tried linking a .dwg file, however the same Arial text in the .dwg file looks thicker than the Arial text in the model (my default text style)
Thanks
thanks, thats what I ended by doing.
However, it would be nice to know how to successfully copy and paste PDF text notes into a revit file.
What kind of pdf/text notes? ie. You could also import the pdf into autocad, set/change layers etc, then link/import it as cad file. Or is that what you meant by tried as .dwg?
I suggest copy paste content from Word to keep most of the format. Copy paste from a PDF loses a part of the original format.
It would appear that when copying from a PDF and pasting to a Revit Legend or to a Word.doc file, the formatting is affected.
In the attached, the first two columns are able to be pasted without being affected, i.e. no re-formatting. The 3rd, 4th and 5th columns do receive some shuffling of the bulletted points.
I have tried this on my PC / revit session and a colleagues. Both with the same outcome.
That is what I said. Try copy paste from the original Word document if you have it. If not, Export the PDF to Word first then copy paste from it to Revit.
If you are already use 2020, why don't you just insert the PDF itself?
I have tried pasting to Word then into Revit. Same issue occurs. The end resukt was to insert the PDF into the model.
Problem with this is that it would be nice to be able to edit the data (Specs) as this will vary from project to project.
