I am looking into a way to speed up editing data in the schedules. I want to copy the value of one cell into multiple cells that I select. It seems that I can only paste to one cell at the time. Is there any trick to solve this? I want to avoid exporting to Excel and re-importing it as it takes too long time and the information does not reflect instantly in the model.

We use to export to Excel or dynamo scripts to paste to multiple apply the same data to multiple objects for some jobs. We are now using the app Revit Database Editor from the Revit app store to do quick operations like paste to multiple cells, and find and replace. In a way that tool combines the Revit schedules with an Excel like editor. I suggest you to give it a try.
Example workflow for a door schedule:
- Open a 3d view that shows all doors and open the door schedule (you should see tabs for both views above the drawing area)
- Switch to schedule tab, select the cell you want to copy and copy the value
- Highlight multiple rows on the schedule
- Click 3d view tab to switch to the 3d view, now multiple doors are selected in the 3d view
- Paste the cell value to the parameter field in the properties panel
For something like this we either use scripts that copy data, or we use the Excel Export/Import tool from BIMOne.com
One I have not had time to really research into the power and what it can do is Revit DB Link.
I tried the Database Editor app and it does work great. Thank you for the tip. I was super tired of exporting to excel, modify the cells and import them again.
