Coping text from one callout to another

Can someone explain to me why I can't coping a wall section text from one wall section to another?  I created several wall sections using callouts from building sections.  I noted one wall section up and wanted to copy the text and place it into the other callout wall section but can't.  There has to be a way to do this instead of wasting time and noting each and every wall section individually.  Thanks for any help.

Are you using the copy command or the copy to clipboard command?  Copy will not let you go between views, but copy to clipboard and paste from clipboard will.

Yes that's what I'm doing.  Although when I click on paste, the "align to current view" is not an option, only "paste from clipboard", so when I click on that I get the "error-cannot be ignored".  Really strange.  I can copy and paste from one exterior view to another but not from callout  to callout.

What all are you selecting in the view to be copied?  Can you copy some of the items and work your way through them to see if you can find the stubborn one that just doesn't want to corporate on a Monday?

Can't get any of the text to copy.  I thought maybe it had something to do with the crop area but you can see that's not the problem.

Do you get an error message when trying to paste?  Is the annotation turned off in the other view you are pasting into?

I new with Revit and if I understand what you're asking the annotation is on.  So I can go back and forth from wall section to wall section and put notes or text into each one but I can't copy from one to another.  I can believe that an expensive software such as Revit, that if a person had 10 wall sections that you would have to note each one separate instead of noting up one and then coping those notes over other wall sections...wow.  This is the biggest waste of time.  At least in Autocad one can copy notes or text from one wall section to another.  Very disappointed in Revit right now.

Is there a way you can share the model?  I am not sure why you can't do this?  Would like to try it with your model.

Yes but since I'm new with Revit and this Forum, Do I just paste the model into the message?

It really depends if the section lies on top of one another. Most cases your section cut will have different origin point. Revit will not paste the text at the correct spot. Floor level works since each floor level shared the same origin point.

My recommendation is first select all the text you want to repeat in other section. Group it. Copy it and paste to the next view.

I get so tired of hearing this, especially from noobs who judge before they realize what and why it is happening.

This is due to the crop region. Turn off the crop and you will be able to paste.

You know Rob if you crawl out of the Basement long enough and realize your smart comments should be kept to yourself, more people would probably enjoy asking for help on this forum, which is one of the reasons it's here!

BTW brilliant, your suggestion didn't work!!

Syman 2000.  Regarding what you said about the origin point.  So I copied text from a wall section then went to the other wall section and did "showed crop", then expanded the crop area (across my screen).  Then I paste and there it is.  So the whole time the origin point was not within my cropped area from the previous wall section.  I then moved the text and problem solved...thanks a lot for your help.

So, it's okay for you to be a smart ass but not for people responding to you. I really don't like noobs coming here expecting things from the program and complaining only to find out it is PEBCAK. Your false assumptions get in the way of helping you.

and the same solution from another user did? Brilliant! (I admit my wording was a bit off but the intent was there. Sorry your noobiness didn't allow you to understand my miswording, my bad. Time to go back to the basement where there are people who can be helped.)

Good luck.

With room tags you can just place them in the views using the Tag Room command.

The room needs to also be in that view to be tagged.
