Coordination with Shared Reference Point

Hello everybody!

There is a quite ordinary task: get the coordinates to several models and assemble a consolidated model. I use a Shared Reference Point for this purpose. After receiving the export file from Civil, I import shared coordinates from XML file and create new shared coordinates. Next, I create a coordination file, upload one of the files to it and publish the coordinates. Next, I upload the rest of the files by common coordinates.

But with absolutely the same actions, when downloading some files, the window "The document and the imported instance do not share the same coordinate system." appears. What could be the mistake?

I apologize for possible errors in the translation of terms.

If you are using Publish Coordinates that means you are not working via BIM360 because Publish Coordinates is not supported in that system. If you are working within BIM360 then you have to Acquire Coordinates from the master model, meaning you have to link the master to each model you want to use the same coordinate system.

When using Publish Coordinates you need to establish one model as the master (site model) and link the other models to it, move/rotate/elevate so align properly. Then use Publish Coordinate and select each linked model. Revit will ask you to save these changes to the linked model when you save the Master. Then you can link the models to each other using the option Auto - By Share Coordinates.

Thanks for the quick response. It's not exactly what I need, but I've already found a solution. The problem was in the template on which some of the models were created.

What was wrong with the templates?

Hello!

The template was old and contained a lot of errors. In particular, there were several Internal Origins in the template, which I wrote about in a separate topic.

Unfortunately, due to lack of time, it was not possible to figure out what was going on. But the problem was solved by intergating link in a project created on the correct template.

Thanks for getting back to me, but could you explain what you mean by "the problem was solved by intergating link in a project created on the correct template", thanks
