Coordination Review UI Issue Using Delete

This is a minor UI issue with the Coordination Review dialog box.

When a monitored element is deleted in the linked model, the Coordination Review dialog box gives us an item to delete the monitoring element. Good, so far.

However, if you hit the Apply button, the UI "resurrects" the just deleted element in the UI and duplicates it in the UI. If you select the drop-down for actions to take, there are no actions, the drop-down is empty.

Closing the dialog and running the tool again cleans up the UI. But selecting the Apply button should not cause this sort of behavior.

I'm not seeing an issue or odd behavior in your Screencast.   I can confirm it behaves exactly the same way here.  I hadn't given it much attention to it before, but I can kind of see the logic.  You are still in the middle of an operation -- Coordination Review.  Should you "Apply" the action and then click "OK" to close out of the Coordination Review, you would not see those entries listed in the next Coordination Review.

That's my two cent worth.

...maybe change  "Postpone" to "Pending"?  That might make more sense.  What do you think?

Even if I am in the middle of the operation, the item should not duplicate after hitting Apply. If anything, it should change the status just as if you hit OK and reopened the dialog, since it is repainting the dialog. That is the correct operation of using the Apply button per MS UI design: Apply applies changes regardless of what button is later used to exit the dialog.

No, "pending" is not correct, since that would just make the next user have to deal with the issue when the intent of the first user is to never accept the proposed change. But thanks for the suggestion!

I think you misunderstood me. What I'm saying, is while the operation is still active, instead of the "deleted elements" showing a "Postpone" status, maybe it could say "Pending", which is essentially what their status is until you finish the operation. Either way, there is nothing to "deal with" upon the next Coordination Review, because those "deleted elements" are gone.

Ah... have the UI show "Pending" for status. You were not referring to a user action.

I think the issue with changing the status to "Pending" is that there are several different types of actions that the user can take, and even hit Apply multiple times, which could make things confusing for the user. "Was that an Ignore action I took on that element and an "Accept" on that other element? I can't remember…"

There are no actions that the user can take at this point.  There is just the word "Postpone", but the drop-down is empty and inactive.  Like I said: I don't see a issue with the "Deleted Elements" being relisted while the operation is still active.  Maybe the word "Postpone" could be replaced with "Pending" though.  Just for clarity.

Agreed, but remove the duplicated entries. Those are just confusing.

You ought post this suggestion on the Idea Forum. If it get enough traction by way of votes, Autodesk may change it.
