Coordination Model not visible

Hello,

I've linked a coordination model from a NWD file but it is not visible in any of my views, I've checked visibility and graphics and it is ticked. By process of elimination; I've checked the clipping and view depth, selected no view template, resaved my nwd which consists of several models, checked that my discipline and switch off hidden lines. However, none of these options worked and I'm have no clue why I cannot see my coordination model. Please help!

Are you saying that it's not even visible in 3D View?

..Phasing related?

What are the Coordinates/Origin set to when you Link the NW file into Revit?

Take a look here:

Yes it's not even visible in 3D view mode, I'd tried to 'zoom in region' but just nothing appears.

671220, 674663, 51.100.  Is there a visibility cap if the coord are too far for the project base point?

Thanks but I'd already followed the steps prior posting on this forum

Tried the phasing but no luck either, switching from existing and new. It's definitely in the model somewhere.

I dunno why but my model has appeared and it's right alongside my project base point, however, I cannot see it in 3D??

I'm not sure if this is topic related, but I found out that the "Enable Sectioning" you have set in your NWD file will also affect its appearance once loaded in Revit, especially when looking at a 3D view with the section box enabled.

If you are working in 2019 revit: In Navisworks when you export go to the viewport ribbon and make sure that enable sectioning is not enabled. If it is then it will not work when in revit and you use section box. - I will say that I also updated my Revit 2019 to 2019.2 at the same time as trying this... So unlcear which one is actually the fix.

I've been having the exact same problem! using 2020 revit & navisworks manage. nwd saved without sectioning enabled. Inserted coordination model (CM) in Revit. CM is not visible. Crossing windows into the void can finally select the CM and only small boxes are visible when selected. CM is Invisible in 3D, invisible in floorplans, & invisible reflected ceiling plans. Everything is checked visible in visibility graphics in all views. Project base point is directly centered in CM.

This seems like a common known issue that doesn't have a solution? Are there hardware limitations? If so why doesn't revit clearly report this? CM is 6.5 GB (an existing conditions scan)

I am having the same problem. Coordination model is not visible in any view, but I can select the bounding box in an unbounded 3d view.

Revit 2020.2.4

Coordination Model is only 34mb placed at internal origin.

Revit file is only around 150mb. (only Fire sprinkler system)

Linked revit files are pretty large, but I am keeping several larger files unloaded. I am nowhere near at the limits of what my machine can handle.

Only wildcard I see is that my revit file is a workshared cloud model on BIM360 Docs, but my coordination model is a local file.

I removed the coordination model and re-linked it. I could see it again for maybe 10 minutes. it disappeared after switching views a couple times. I have yet to determine if it disappeared as a result of switching views or when I saved the model.

Change the view to Coordination discipline.

Thanks for the idea, but this does not help. coordination model is not visible in any view. Only as a bounding box in an unbounded 3d view. Regardless of view discipline.
May be worth noting I think this only started happening after updating Revit to 2020.2.4.

Is your 3d view set to Realistic?  If so, try another visual style.

iT IS NOT SHOWING IN ANY VIEW. REGARDLESS OF VISUAL STYLE.

Have you checked Phasing?  Have you checked its Status? Is it Loaded?  Have you checked VGOs? Is it checked under the Coordination Models Tab?

Yes. All these settings should be good. As I said I have been working with these coordination models in my model for a couple months. Then they stopped displaying suddenly. I went through all the normal methods. Then removed them entirely and reinserted them and they worked for about 15 minutes, and disappeared again.

What Version are you working in?

....did you recently install any Add-Ins?

Has anyone found a solution to this issue?  I've been experiencing the same instability with an .nwd model loaded into Revit as a coordination model.  It looked fine on Friday afternoon, and then this morning it wasn't visible in any views.

I have experienced this on two different projects now, both in Revit 2020 (currently running Revit 2020.2.4).

I've considered a lot of the proposed solutions in this post already:

  • disabled sectioning before publishing .nwd
  • Removed unnecessary models in Navis before publishing .nwd
  • tested on files locally and in the cloud
  • typical stuff you'd look at for an element not showing up (phasing, v/g, view discipline, view depth etc.)

I've tried researching limitations on .nwd in Revit but have come up short.

Thanks!

Hi Laura,

I Actually have a solution.

I had to work with autodesk tech support to figure this one out.

It seems to be an incompatability with Revit 2020.2.4/5 and the BIM360 Issues Add in.

Go to your C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2020 folder, and remove the BIM360 Revit Issues add in file and folder.

You can move them to a temporary folder until a hotfix is issued. If this doesn't work I would suggest try removing other Add-ins one at a time from the folder and relaunching revit in between until your coordination model starts behaving properly.
