Converting Solidworks Assembly to Revit

Is there any way to convert a Solidworks Assembly into a file that I can open with Revit? I'm using SW 2012 and the trial version of Revit 2017. I've tried saving the SW model as an ACIS (.sat) file, but Revit wouldn't open it. Any other solutions?

You cannot open SAT file directly in Revit. Use Import CAD from Insert menu and choose SAT extension.

I opened a new project and when I tried this, I got a notice that "Some SAT elements were lost during import". Nothing appears and the file is blank.

Can't tell from the error message. How complex is the model? Can you share some images, or better yet, the SAT file?

I modeled a 1" cube to test this, so a very simple model. Will eventually be using more complex models, for example a sink.

I do not have Solidworks so I don't know what the export process is. But in Rhino, I would select the NURBS and export the object(s) to SAT, not the entire drawing.

Hey,

A slightly late answer, but a useful one. I have had similar issues facing difficulties with file transfer from Solidworks to Revit. Then I cam across the BIMDeX plugins, which allowed me to transfer files from Solidworks to Revit easily without losing any data. You can try as well.
