How do you convert an NWD file to be able to open it in Revit. I need to merge meshes and I can't do that in Freedom or Manage. Revit was suggested but it won't open NWD files.
You can only Link your NWD file inside Revit as Coordination model. But it’s not possible to open NWD files for editing inside Revit
The link takes me to the instructions on how to link the file but it's grayed out for me. How do you get it to work if it's grayed out?
Just make sure you're linking your coordination model into a project file. it's grayed out only in family!
I have never used Revit. Only Manage and Freedom. I have no idea what you are telling me to do. I don't have any Revit project files.
In Revit startup screen, make sure you’re creating a new project file not a family file.
Okay, I got it to where I could add the nwd file via the coordination model but I don't know what to do next. I need to merge meshes. I have created sets of components of the tree and I need to merge those into the tree so they can be 1 item rather than different components. Can you tell me how to do that?
There is nothing showing in the window so I don't know what to do.
Thanks
As I mentioned above, you cannot do any editing in NWD files inside Revit. It’s just for coordination purpose.
Do you know if there is a way to convert NWD files to another type of file so that the meshes can be merged in Revit? Or, do you know of a way to merge meshes in another Autodesk system? What I've done is created sets of components so I'm trying to merge those back into the tree so they are 1 item rather than separate components. If that can't be done, do you know of a way to combine components into 1 in the tree and if so, in what system?
Thank you
If you can get to the native file of which this NWD file was published it will be much easier for you to modify. Otherwise, you’ll need a third party tool like iconstruct to export your model to an editable format
