Hi,
is there a way to convert ACAD lines to beams when imported to Revit?
...I have spatial steel structure in *dxf with around 3000 elements - beams and drawing one by one is a waste of time.

Create a Beam System vs drawing the beams one at a time.
You can use the pick line tool to create the beams, but if the beams are not parallel you may get lots of errors.
But there is no easy button from DWG to Revit.

Thanks.
The beams are in all directions....
Is there a way around....like inserting dxf model in advance steel and pray for magic to happen.....than transfer model with beams to revit...
Regards!
Like I said...there is no magic button. Beam Systems can be placed in multiple directions...draw the perimeter then specify the direction of the beams, select the beam type, done.
Even if you had 3D beams from Autocad they won't look correct in Revit. You are dealing with two totally different types of programs.
Hi,
...managed to solve the problem with Advance Steel.
I just opened dxf in ASD and used "line to beam" command.....then exported everything to Revit.
Regards!

Well....this is the Architectural forum not Structural....so I never use Advanced Steel and wouldn't know what it's capabilities are. Next time I suggest posting in the Structural forum if you need more Structural specific results.
@Anonymous
...sorry...didn't realize I was posting to architectural forum...
Thanks for your time!
