Convert House into family? (or something like that)

Hello, I was wondering If there is any way to convert a simple house design(walls, roof, windows) to a family type model. I have a conceptual siteplan where I need to place x numbers of houses, and for rendering purposes I would love to be able to create just one detailed house that I can place around multiple times without having to worry about linking files and levels. Right now I'm using just a simple generic model but I miss the details.

/Victor

Why not linking files?

ease of use I guess, I like the fact that the generic models I currently have are hosted by surface which makes for easy alignment on topography

Hi @bin

Have you looked into grouping? That may be the best options for what you are looking for.

Walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs, are system families, which means they live within a project not as an external family.

It's quite the same if you only need it for some render. Still, linked file is easier I think.

As far as I know, there are a few options on how to do that. For the good family hose examples, I would recommend you to visit 1newhomes.com or any other new homes seller website. You could find there a lot of good renderings.

I think linking does exactly what you were looking for tbh, perhaps you could try grouping and saving as .rfa though... you might run into some limitations however.
