Controlling nasted families with type catalog

Hi All,

is there a way to controll nasted families with type catalog. In my case i have nasted families in an master familiy, and would like to controll the settings of the defferents types of the nasted families in my master family using differents types, conveniently using a type catalog.

Do you have a tip, the search does not return  good results.

Best regards.

If there is a controlling parameter in the "Master family", it should be able to be set by the Type Catalog. You may need to make parameters in your master family and link (Associate Family Parameter) the nested family parameters to them so you can control the nested parameters from the master.

Sounds like you are talking specifically about nested Families that are Labeled to a Family Types Parameter.  If so, yes; there is a way to do it via a Type Catalog, but not directly. You'll need one or more other Family Type Parameters to formula-drive the main Family Type Parameter.

Post your Family.

It looks like @s.hofer6LSK7 is confusing the term "family type" with "type catalog".
