Looks like the imported DWG file did not have contours that have a "Z" value. The DWG file needs to have 3d contour lines in order to create a toposurface that is not flat in Revit.

I dont know how to make it in 3d since i am just a beginner on cad, and I just downloaded that file from here http://mbfoundation.org.ph/arts-design-architecture.html as you can see at the right side at the bottom downloads and the topographical survey. Are there anyways on how to make that 2d file cad into a 3d on revit? gosh, i need it badly.

You will need to make the lines into Polylines in cad, and give them a "Z" value by typing PEDIT then give a value for Z, such as 101, 102, etc.

Then save the dwg file and reload back into Revit.

Once inside Revit you can then select the dwg and create a Toposurface.

Hi, I dont understand when I type Pedit and then there's this precision that range from 0-99 and i dont get it. what was that for? and when I type just any num and there is this option that i would choose like close, join, width, and etc. I'm sorry, I am so lost. I just want to make the lines convert to polylines so I could have the Z values and import it on revit. Thanks

Sounds like you need to get a basic understanding of AutoCad first. Please post your Cad question on the AutoCad Forum.

Once you get it figured out in Cad, then re-post and if you need help in Revit I'd be glad to offer assistance.
