Constraints between nested adaptive components

Hello,

I am newbee in AC and want to create a family with some nested adaptive components. Now I'm trying to create dimensional constraints between two elements. To do that I align one of the elements with ref plane (like a regular family workflow) and create parameter. But if I m changing parameter value "Constraints are not satisfied" issue is displayed. I've tryed different variations of constrains: between elements, between ref plance and elements etc, but issue is the same.

Could some of you give me advise how to avoid this issue? Sample file in attached. Revit 21.

You're in the wrong Template. Why are you using an Adaptive Family Template? What are you trying to do? Big picture.

Maybe this will help your understanding...

Hi, @barthbradley

Thank you for your reply. You are right that example is not discribing my taks in a whole way. I'll use family which is containing ref and adaptive points.

So families from the sample file will be replaced by the families which is already done (in AC templete). But I intentionally simplified my sample to avoid mess.

As I understood, I can nest AF only inside AC templete.

Still not clear what the objective is here, but if you want to make an component Adaptive, then Nest the component into an Adaptive Family Template and place (e.g. Host) an Instance of it to an Adaptive Point Workplane.  Then Save the Family. You're done.  You've created an Adaptive Component Family to use how you want.

@barthbradley

I found an answer to my question. It turned out the adaptive point should be constrainted to move whole element. It's not possible to make a constraint with edge or reference plane of the nested family. Only adaptive point.
