Considering upgrading to 2.5Gbs inner Switch connecting to a 10gbs outer switch. Are there any benefits for Revit?

We have a Revit model that can have up to 18 users working on the file when project work demands and then it settles down to between 5-12 users, it is quite large over 600Mb in size and worse the consultants model at the real coordinates over 40km from the internal origin, many many links, cad etc. You name it.

During peak times the synchronization times can be over 80 secs average and queues of users waiting to commit their changes.

The current network topology uses an internal 1Gbs connecting to our server, however this steps up to 10Gbs. Our NIC cards use 2.5Gbs.

Has anyone upgraded and do you have any performance metrics on the difference from before and after. I am thinking that Revit may not take advantage of increased performance?
