I am using structural foundation tool to select walls with embedded storefront systems on which to create concrete curbs. I am following this workflow:
As an alternative, in a plan view, draw your regular stud wall with a base offset of 6". Then use Home > Foundation > Wall foundation > Edit type > Duplicate > (rename) set the foundation thickness as 6" , then the width as the thickness of your wall, and OK. Then click on your wall. The curb will be attached to the wall. If you move the wall, the footing will move accordingly.
If necessary, you may want to select this footing and do > Element Properties > Under Structural analysis > Analyze as: Not for analysis. (since it is not an actual foundation).
The issue Iam running into is that I have doors which interrupt the continuous curb along the length of the storefront system. So I can do a curb on one side, but I can't figure out how to continue the curb on the other side of the door, because it is one wall. I have to keep it as one wall I think so I don't know if there is a better way to do these 6" curbs altogether.
Thanks for your help,
Charlie
It seems like this option doesn't get affected by curtain systems;
Curtain wall doors are not Inserts.
You can change the bottom panels to a basic foundation wall type.
