Concrete column graphics take properties of joined walls

Concrete column w/ concrete walls

When connected, the column's graphics change

Similarly the column displays as masonry when masonry walls connect to it

I want the columns to display as their family tells them to - white, as in the first picture. "Disallow Join" in the walls doesn't help. I've toggled everything I could find in the column family to no avail.

Any ideas besides Graphic Override? No idea how it makes sense that the adjacent masonry wall would override the properties of the poured concrete column.

Are you using architectural or structural columns?

If architectural, switch to structural.
