When I create a surface wall from a conceptual mass, I keep visualize the conceptual mass (grey) along with the wall and roof (white), even when I do a hole in the wall. What am I wrong with? So the conceptual mass is not being replaced? Does it remain visible? If I "hide" the conceptual mass the building displays itself correctly. Thanks.

The mass should stay so that you can edit it and update the walls/roofs/floors by face in the future. You can turn it off if from the view:
In addition to the above, mentioned by @ToanDN. Under Massing & Site your conceptual mass setting is set to Show Mass Form and Floors, which is overruling the view settings. You would have to set it to by View Settings (and have Mass category turned off for the view (template) as shown).
