I am not sure whether this is the correct forum for this topic, but I was hoping someone would be able to help. I just started rendering, and will be doing it quite often for now on. It's nothing fancy, just still images, please see the attached picture. This is what most of the renderings will look like. The problem is, my current computer takes forever to render in any quality higher than draft, and trying to accomplish anything else while this is going on in the background is impossible. Websites won't load, e-mails won't send. Does anyone have any desktop recommendations that would allow me to render in a very high quality, while still being able to send e-mails/ browse the internet? Thanks in advance!
i’m assuming your using revit for rendering
rendering uses 100% percent of the cpu so of course everything will be slow since the cpu resource is being used
how long is long?
rendering can take hours or longer depending on settings
your best bet would be a separate system just for rendering and another system for everything else

Hi
You may try " Task Manager" and then " Detail"
and Assign / take off CPU for processing Revit Software.
Right Click Revit and select " Set Affinity "
this might give you some freed up CPUs to run other tasks like email, internet etc.
Best luck
this will slow down rendering times significantly since you will be using less cpu resources
if you need to use the computer at the same time as rendering its best to use a separate computer while your rendering
