I was working on a project, and I noticed that what was supposed to be north is now west. How do I edit the compass direction? I can't just rotate my project so I need to modify the compass.

There are two types of North in Revit -

1) Project North - this is what you see when you are working in a plan / section / elevation / detail view. This is dictated by convenience of the production team and ease of accommodating the view on the sheet. Normally this faces up, and is not changed.

2) True North - this is dictated by the geographical location. You will see it's effects in a site / landscaping plan

First things first - make sure that your plan views are in Project North.

If you do need to manipulate Project North or True North, here is where you would do so -

Rotating the model is a can of super stinky worms that is best avoided....

Rotate True North a quarter turn clockwise.  Do not rotate Project North, nor Model.

There a way to change the 3D compass? Need to do some renderings but would like the sun to be directed in the proper way.
