I would like to take the benefit of the Forum's collective experience - I have been tasked to plan periodic training for my team and am thinking about the type of content to present. I am curious - have there been any repetitive Revit related problems that you encounter with your team again and again and again? Any pet peeves? Do share!!

Rina,

My reply: I always try to train on a project. Take an existing AutoCAD file, import it into Revit and start modelling. Or, start a new project in Revit and use that as part of the training. Depending on your audience you can tailor what you want to demonstrate and that will start the conversation. Let the attendees drive the conversation. I can talk to a wall all day but if your audience is not engaged its lights out, glaze over time. Make it fun, crack a few jokes. After all if you can't laugh at Revit you should think about getting a new job!

My reply: From where I'm standing I cannot see the end of of the list. However, compared with previous versions of Revit the app is fairly solid. I try not to dwell on "problems" while training as this is off putting to users, tell then you will take the questions off line and find a "work-a-round", or if you already know one (or two) share them.

My reply: Yes, for me teaching Materials is a struggle. Its dialog box hell with very little rhyme or reason. Of course you will get the "Why can't I save back in Revit" questions, but 99% know why! Beyond that the occasional non helpful error messages when Revit gets annoyed at you are a bit old, hopefully the Factory will address this at some point.
Hope this helps.
Thank you, @alan.quinn!
