Hello !!
My Question is about combining Building Model with MEP Model which is having an issue.
I got building Model and MEP MODEL as IFC data and i dont know if its created in Revit or any other software. I tried to combine in Navisworks too and set the "Origin coordinates" and "Rotation angle" same for both IFC data. MEP Model combines with Building Model but have a height issue as some components of MEP Model are over building.
In Revit, i also exported both IFC Files and wanna move MEP to correct place in building model but the problem is that i cannot see any fixed corner points in MEP file and its all just components in air.
Sorry for explaining too much but i need you to have a clear view of what i wanna ask.
Any help in this regard would be appreciating. Thanks
Can you explain what you have done in Revit?
Have you started a new project? Based on what template?
Have you linked both IFC files or have you opened them first to recreate an .rvt model and linked them
When linking a model you have several options for placement like using origin to origin.
Are the IFC's based on equal Base and Survey point? Within the file itself and compared to each other?
There are so may different options to try.
Yes i tried in Revit architectural template. I opened both IFC Files and tried Auto origin to origin for both files. The problem is i dont know about the project base point and survey point as i go files as IFC.
Moreover, while linking IFC file it give no option of Origin-Origin or anything else
Linking IFC does not give the option. However if you have opened the IFC and converted them to rvt and link the rvt you get these options: center to center, origin to origin, projectbase point to project base point, shared coordinates.
When you have linked the IFC there is a copy created with the .ifc.rvt extention.
You can try linking these.
Yes you are right. It created Revit extensions and i tried via linking these two but its the same. Actually location seems ok as MEP looks correctly over Building but there is problem with height. MEP Componenets can be seen over roof. Somehow trying to correct that.
Youn can see in the screenshot these MEP Components over roof.
They look like lighting fixture and so on to me.
I can see objects in the basement so the lowest level seems fine.
Can you check if there possibly is a difference between level distances?
Are the ceilingbased objects on all levels correct, (Do they have the same offset from their hostlevel)
Are these objects not misplaced and forgotten to erase. Like when using copy to selected level but the highest level is top roof for instance.
I saw the levels for both files and i think there not much difference. I cant see properties of MEP objects because when i click it, the whole file is selected.
