Combined room finish tags

Hello

We are trying to have as much smart information self populate our schedules and tags as possible.

We need a tag that picks up the room finishes that we have added to each room via Added Parameters, along with picking up true finishes like the ceiling and floor.  We would also like for the finish of the ceiling (and height) and floor to be automatically populated in our room finish schedule.  How can we accomplish this?  See images of where we are now with tags and schedules below.

Fundamentally you can't combine data from different schedule types - so for instances you can't have window parameters in a door schedule.  Equally you can't combine data from a ceiling schedule in a room schedule.

However, you could create a project parameter for ceiling height and assign it to rooms and then use Dynamo to read the height data from the ceiling and write it to this new parameter.  If you do this however you need to remember that this data isn't live, i.e. if you move the ceiling you would need to run the script again to update the Ceiling Height Room Parameter.  Maybe not ideal but a possible solution.

Do you happen to know how to schedule the square footage of walls?  Not their surface area, but their footprint.  I need to know what the actual number is, and then I will calculate for a percentage of overall building square footage.

You can use a calculated value - just include the length of the wall and width and multiply the two.

What am I doing wrong in this Calculated Parameter?  This is within a wall schedule in Revit 17.  No information fills the cell.  Its just a blank cell.  Thanks

What you have done should be working.  I suspect what you have is 'itemise every instance' turned off in which case the Area you are calculating will by default show up as blank because there will be at least two different values for the area.

to get around this you need to enable Calculate Totals for the Area parameter you have created - see below.  Once you have done this you should see the total area for each wall type (or however you have them filtered) in the area column.
