I make a architectural coumn on a verandah and it is not apparent .the base offset and top offset is 0 and under visibility graphics teh columsn are ticked . but the column doesnt show over the verandah but does show in pther areas. also under visibility graphics i make sure that architectural and structral columns are ticked.Furthermore I set teh detail level to fine still not solved. The file is attached for such magysterial issue. many thans in advance.

hi, try to change your visual style to wireframe and you will see your column. hope it helps. thanks

It helps on the column but the tiles get seen through from the vanity and toilet blocks in the toilet.

If you set the view to display wireframe permanently, yes. If you just join
the column and floor, and then turn back to hidden lines, don't.

You have already accepted the solution; however, I am gonna still post this just to clarify rather than just solve it

Joining the column to the floor might have worked to resolve a visibility issue at the lower end of the column while the column remains floating at the upper end...and this not the best practice (in my personal opinion). What you need to do is one of the following:

1. When you draw columns you use the tool Attach Top/Base not Join Geometry (Same applies for walls)
2. However, regardless what you use Attach or Join; when you start/envoke the column command in an architectural view; ensure in the option bar you have Height and it is set to unconnected. In the file which you posted it was set to HEAD (ie: it is floating at both ends). When you set a column (as well as wall) to unconnected height, you will see it in architectural plan view you are drawing on (if it is cut by the VR) regardless of the visibility settings (wireframe/hidden/...
