The columns and walls flush with each other, it shows the overlapping, how to make the columns disappear from the wall in elevation and 3D? The column doesn't automatically join the wall - I want to keep the solid fill of the column.
Huh? How to make them "disappear from wall"? Why would they disappear? Wouldn't the walls start and stop at the columns - which you've deliberately set to NOT join to walls?
...do the columns and walls share the same surface material? If so, you can use the LW tool to make the edge linework invisible.
If you mean faking it then use linework tool and make the lines Invisible.
Or model them correctly, by set the column backs and run the wall finish layer over them.
...or you could model the surfacing material layer as a Basic Wall Type and place it in front of the Walls/Columns.
I should have explained this more clearly. This is a precast concrete building, the wall panel flushes with the column, where the column meets the wall panel, it recesses to accommodates the wall panel; I am modeling it as a background for consultants, so I don't have enough time to make the details unless there is an easy way to cut a recess in columns, but we need to show where we want the joints etc

Maybe it's me, but I'm still unclear what you are after. You're original question was: "how to make the columns disappear from the wall in elevation and 3D?"
