How do I control the color of elements when they exported to IFC ?
I have some floors with the same material and same color in Revit, but when I export to IFC, some of the floors are displayed in different color. It should be the same.
Same result in different IFC viewers.

Hello

Color of an object in IFC depends on shading color of material in Revit. If both slabs contain same layers of the same material, i.e. have same type, they must have the same colour in IFC.

That's exactly how I thought, but I still have different colors even though those elements are of the same type.

Revit and IFC attached.

That's strange. If you delete one part of the lower floor, color will be the same for upper and lower floor. In other words, if you model a floor as one enclosed polygon the issue doesn't occur. That is something Autodesk support could take a look at.

This is a seriously annoying issue that overrides your shading settings as soon as you put a single opening (stair/elevator shafts, MEP box outs, etc.,).

Does anyone know how we can raise the issue with Autodesk?

Yes this problem should not be so hard to solve! Still same problem in revit 2020... How do you contact autodesk?

I did last year.

They don't think it's "their" issue and it is a "problem" of the ifc viewer being used. They report that they've corrected the problem for Navisworks 2020, and we have to reach out to developer(s) of ifc viewer of choice for them to correct it.

Typical Autodesk; "Give me all your money and shut up!"

Ok, yea it's like they do stuffs like that on purpose.. Navis is a kinda buggy and bad ifc viewer though.. Some elements become invisible for me somteimes. And the sectioning tool is crap. Solibri way better. But I wan't my floors to have the shading color like in revit...

I had the same problem. But when I changed the shading color to what I wanted to see, it worked.

(Roof type with 2 materials. In the IFC i saw on some places the 2nd material color instead of the 1st. I gave the 2nd material the same shading color as the first)
