cleaning joints between balusters and rails

All,

I have created a railing system family but I can't find out a way to clean up the joint between the baluster and rails as shown in the picture. The intersecting solids are exactly the same depth so the surfaces are in the same plane, any ideas?

Thanks

RAIL - SPLIT BALUSTER.JPGRAIL - SPLIT BALUSTER OBJECT STYLE.JPGhI

you may split the baluster in parts between railing..

as shown in the sketch above.

and to get rid of lines, you may change railing lines in object style.

there's no way to join geometry to rail and balustrade.. even if they are same material..

Option 1 - If those lines are too much of your concern then you may just use Linework "LW"to remove lines ( invisible lines )..

Option 2 - You may create a new railing, where Railing panel contains the balustrade itself so that you will get clean joints..

this will take some time for you to create but would be worth it..

Option 3 - Curtain wall can be used to create the railing design..

Cheers!

A quick way is make one component slightly smaller than the other, depends in which one you want to hide.
