Changing the finish material of a part of a wall, calculable

Bathrooms walls are covered with tiles on their lower half only. can I apply the tiles to such parts of those walls in this manner, without having to recreate another wall type? I need those surfaces to be calculable..

Thanks!

yes, you can apply material just to draw it on the wall. First press SF -4.png divide half of wall. Than press PT - add material.

The tool you're looking for is Split Face: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2020/ENU/Revi...

OR, depending on what you're after, you can adjust the wall finish layers vertically using Split Region: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/EN...

Using Split face does not require another wall type, however does not show in section whereas Split Region would.

A wainscot?  What about a Stacked Wall? Additionally, you can modify the Wall Assembly to include Sweeps representing the tiling  quarter-rounds, bullnosing, etc.  Or, apply then after-the-fact using Wall: Sweep  tool.

There are several approaches. To name a few:
- split face and paint: this is best if the materials are the same thickness and you want flexibility with the material boundary.
- wall sweeps: this is best for wall bases, wainscots, moulding. Anything that is horizontal / vertical, and with a consistent profile. does not on slopes, for example: along a ramp.
- in-place sweeps: similar to wall sweeps with more flexibility such as along slopes, on other surfaces such as columns, casework, walls in linked models, etc...
- parts: the upside is that you can have two LODs on a single model simply by choosing Show Parts or Show Original. Parts provide a lot of versatility but also require a steeper learning curve to get the full potential.

Maybe even a Curtain Wall...
